Making of a phyllotactic zoetrope using vinyl cuts.


What is a phyllotactic spiral, that is a huge question that will fucking blow your mind.
It is a concept that is found in all plants flowering mechanisms. As the cells grow they do it in the Fibonacci Sequence. One direction spirals right let's say 21/360 degrees and the inverse spiral lines up at 13/360 degrees. If you take any two neighboring numbers in the Fibonacci Sequence you will find this to be true. Now for a real mind blowing concept.

If the strobe light is timed perfectly to every 137.5 degrees. Thats is when the plant or object looks like it grows or Benjamin Buttons back into itself.

The nest step from here is to use the 21, 13 spiral to create a patterned zoetrope.
I don't evem know where to start really.
