Trumpet Finished

Image
This had to be the hardest project I worked on in my life. Put me in a continuous state of misery where if I even approached it I would be forced in a state of panic. Just the knowing that it would take me well over 30 hours to accomplish was daunting. But I have finally come to something at least presentable though it may not be finished to the standard I would like. This took a couple hours it was just a simple sweep. I wanted to demonstrate the math that goes into some of the structure, This one wasn't particularly hard. This one however took fucking 12 hours. also it never cape out nice. If it wasn't so fucked up I 'd use a blend surf to fix the little things but it's fucking fucked. Fuck this shit. I stopped the trumpet for 3 days after this. I used a network surface, I am never using that again I have to figure out another way to make complex surfaces again. In the above picture I demonstrate what I have so far. Hopefully more to come bu...

Make these Objects

Thought I had more here but couldn't find them all. Interestingly enough. At least this demonstrates a core aspect to 3D modeling real world objects.

Vinyl Cut

Vinyl Cut Project This project was quite a bit of planning and a lot of sketch work playing with flower geometry. Which as you know is the Golden angle a ratio devised from the Fibonacci sequence. If you don't know that you are a loser and I ask you leave my blog. I only enjoy the company of those whom are pretentious. Hnuf hnuf hnuf hnuf. So first I had Bryan help me come up with the sketch in processing which turned my current processing sketch into a PDF file. From there we live traced it in illustrator to make an SVG file which could then be cut on the vinyl plotter. With the cuts done I had the brilliant idea of sticking the backing unto a vinyl record so it could be spray painted. When rotated from the exact center the Golden angle looks to be animated, I felt the record player was a good real world object to keep my work spinning. After spray painting here it is. Angling up the record player and adding a rubber band to the arm, actually made the wor...

My 3D Object -Trumpet

Image
TRUMPET What is my reason for a trumpet? I really don't know. They are loud and obnoxious, possibly like me. Also if I could 3D print the parts that would be awesome to own a 3D printed trumpet. HERE IS A TRUMPET MADE OF WOOD. This has the same idea as how I will be constructing it in 3D. More detailed blueprints are to be added as needed. I will have more details to come for sure.

Phyllotactic Phanakistiscope

Click this while reading my blog to get my vibe. Making of a phyllotactic zoetrope using vinyl cuts. What is a phyllotactic spiral, that is a huge question that will fucking blow your mind. It is a concept that is found in all plants flowering mechanisms. As the cells grow they do it in the Fibonacci Sequence. One direction spirals right let's say 21/360 degrees and the inverse spiral lines up at 13/360 degrees. If you take any two neighboring numbers in the Fibonacci Sequence you will find this to be true. Now for a real mind blowing concept. remember to have the music goin' while you watch this video to have some magical vibes goin. If the strobe light is timed perfectly to every 137.5 degrees. Thats is when the plant or object looks like it grows or Benjamin Buttons back into itself. If I don't explain this well here is a video where I got all this information from. The nest step from here is to use the 21, 13 spiral to create a patterne...
